A much needed update!!!

We are nearing the end of the school year... Can you believe it? My babies will be in Kindergarten next year... It's crazy! I was looking through the yearbook today and saw how much their precious little faces have changed. I can't believe we made it! Here are some pictures as of recently! -we had some critter crawlers come to visit us one day.... Bruce Middlebrook so generously brought them by and let the kids play. They loooved it.
-we also had a special snack, brought by our practicum teacher Mrs. Watts, that was called dirt cup (chocolate pudding, Oreos and gummy worms.)
-our excursion to the park to play and eat hotdogs :)

New happenings!

We are into springtime and loving the weather! Our theme this month is plants, flowers, insects, and how the weather changes. We had the privilege of planting some trees around OCA, which was great experience. We have also been watching some corn seeds sprout and examining what they look like! The kiddos get closer to Kindergarten every day... I can't believe we've almost finished the school year!

Funny!

Today has been a "funny" day. Some days are just more funny than others...
So I thought I would share today's funny sayings:

Tegan: "Did I do a good job on this paper? Like a rockstar?"

Harrison: I know who sings this song!!! The same person who sings "rolling in the deep" And he was exactly right!!!

Thought I would share :)

"Color me" house!

How cool is this!!!
Tegan's mom so generously gave the class a "color me" cottage house. All I had to do was put it together, which wasn't hard at all. They are LOVING it this week!

I will take pictures of each rotation of centers as each student is coloring the house and post at the end of the week!

We use houses to practice coloring in our class... What about yours?! :)

New additions

We have some new additions to the classroom... Check them out!

Presidents celebration!

In honor of Presidents Day, we watched fun clips of the Presidents of the past. They loved getting to watch and learn about these "cool" people, was one of the students phrasing and understanding of who a President is. Haha :)
We then made Abraham Lincoln hats to wear home, and made Abraham Lincoln's home where he grew up. It was a fun day learning about Presidents.

Valentines Day fun

Valentines day is always so fun when you are young. Something about passing out your own Valentines to your classmates is always so special :)
Here is what we made for Valentines: we crumpled up tissue paper and made Vday tissue paper hearts. We hung these out for everyone to see in the hallway.
To have a special box for our valentines, we covered and painted, glued and taped cereal boxes! They had a blast decorating them and it wasn't hard at all. And plenty big enough to fit all their lovely Valentines in their boxes. During the party, students did crafts that consisted of a Valentine wreath and necklaces/bracelets! Thank you to Tegan's mom who prepared those for us. :) and Thank you to all those who brought goodies for the party! What a fun day!

We did 100 exercises that got us up and moving....we counted EVERY one of them! Here is some proof:
This definitely made me laugh while watching :)

Thought I would share...hope you enjoy :)

The list goes on and on! I took more pictures that will be up soon so please check back this weekend to see those!

Also, the next picture is what we did today: igloos!

X marks the spot!

Today, we had a treasure hunt to find hidden treasure! The letter fairy brought us a map and wanted us to use our newly learned skill of recognizing the letter "x" so we were on the lookout for x marks the spot!

Here is our journey:
One of the pictures shows the handprints that the kids saw right away this morning on the classroom door! Then of course they found more on top of the mailbox, which would mean the Letter Fairy came! We checked the mailbox and read the clues to find our treasure...we went all through the hallways, "ocean", "jungle", etc. We finally got back to the classroom for the last clue! The hidden treasure was of course in the snowman box with small snowflake "x's" on it :) inside was some fake money and smarties! All in all, it was a fun time! Hope you enjoyed our journey to find "x"!
